INTO THE FROZEN WILD
This Extreme Dreams expedition sees us power our way to the heart of snow-covered wilderness in the depths of winter, with the iconic Aurora Borealis to light our way.
Together, we tackle an endurance journey across the frozen landscape, towing our gear-laden pulka (sled) between remote huts in the middle of a vast, untouched wilderness high in the Arctic Circle. To end our week, we climb aboard dog sleds for a safari race across mountain ranges, carve through deep powder, and race through snow-laden pine forests.
But that’s only half of it. We’ll also enjoy several other mad experiences best suited to the Arctic environment think ice lake immersions in the snow followed by sauna sessions and ski shots to warm the cockles.
This will be a true challenge of the mind and body for us all. Stepping away from comfort and taking on something new is the epitome of adventure, right? Who knows what we’ll find when we get out there. So grab your down jacket, find your winter gloves, chuck on your snowshoes (we provide all of these, don’t worry) and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

It’s finally time to embark on your incredible Extreme Dreams: Arctic Challenge 2027. Make sure your bags are packed, you’re physically and mentally prepared, and ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
Welcome to the gateway city of the Arctic, set among dramatic winter landscapes at the edge of the polar region. Known as one of the world’s best places to witness the Northern Lights, this is where our Extreme Dreams expedition begins. Please ensure you arrive by midday to meet the group at our designated hotel.
From here, we’ll collect your essential winter clothing before boarding our private transport, which will take us deeper into the Arctic wilderness.
On arrival at our lodge, you’ll check into your shared cabin for the night and meet your guides for the first part of our Arctic adventure. We’ll gather to review maps, assess weather conditions, and walk through the itinerary together before sitting down to a hearty group welcome dinner. It’s an early night, as the adventure truly begins tomorrow.

We leave the comfort of our starting point behind and take a transfer to Hetta, where our journey into the Arctic wilderness begins.
We strap on our snowshoes, load the sleds, and head up the valley along a trail that winds through silent birch forest before opening out onto exposed, frozen Arctic tundra, where the true challenge of the expedition starts to reveal itself.
Today we snowshoe 14 km from Hetta to Sioskuru, our first wilderness hut.
On arrival, we light the fire, get the stove going, and take time to soak in the remoteness of this incredible place. And if we’re lucky, the Northern Lights will dance across the sky above us.
-
Kuonjarvaarri, Enontekiö, Finland
Waking up in the Arctic wilderness is an incredible experience. We spend a few hours taking in the majesty of the region, before preparing the sleds for an easier day covering around 8-10km on the tundra, travelling to our overnight destination of Kuonjarvaarri Hut.
-
Terbmisjävri, Enontekiö, Finland
Leaving the comfort of the hut behind, we venture back into the frozen Arctic wilderness as first light touches the horizon far to the south. We walk as much as possible during the twilight hours, reducing the time spent under headtorch at the end of another physically and mentally demanding day.Keep your eyes peeled for moose, Arctic fox, and reindeer as we move through gorges and across frozen lakes.
Today we hike 15 km from Hannukuru to Nammalakuru, reaching our next wilderness hut deep in the Arctic landscape.
-
Our final day on foot marks the end of our wilderness journey. Leaving the hut behind, we set out across open terrain, gradually making our way towards civilisation as the landscape begins to soften around us.
Today we hike 11 km from Nammalakuru to Pallas, where our snowshoe journey officially comes to an end.
From here, we transfer by taxi to Pallas Husky, near Pallas, for a relaxed and well earned evening. We settle in with a warm dinner, enjoy the comfort of a sauna, and take time to unwind after several demanding days in the Arctic wilderness.
It’s a gentle landing after an unforgettable journey through some of the most remote landscapes in the Arctic.
-
After a relaxed morning recovering from our days on the tundra, we enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out to try a new means of transport to move across the frozen landscape.
We'll take the weather conditions into account and either jump on fat bikes with spiked tyres, X-country skis or something else to surprise you all. Rest assured it'll be epic.
-
After breakfast, we head out for a full day husky adventure deep in the Arctic wilderness.
Today is about settling into the rhythm of long-distance travel by dog sled. We spend the day driving our own teams across snow-covered trails, learning to work in partnership with the dogs as the landscape unfolds around us. This is a physically and mentally immersive day, demanding focus, teamwork, and endurance.
We spend the day learning the basics, building confidence on the sleds, and enjoying an easy ride through the surrounding winter landscape, getting a feel for the rhythm of travelling with a husky team.
It’s a gentle day designed to recover, learn, and ease into the next phase of the adventure.
-
With the experience of the previous day behind us, we head out for another full day of dog sledding across the Arctic landscape.
This day is about flow and confidence, settling fully into the rhythm of long-distance travel by dog team as we move through forests and open terrain. There’s time to absorb the scale and stillness of the environment, with a break for lunch out on the trail before continuing on.
As the day winds down, we leave the wilderness behind and travel on to a comfortable hotel in the region. A warm meal, proper beds, and time to rest offer a welcome contrast after days spent immersed in the Arctic wilds.
-
After breakfast, our expedition comes to an end as we transfer to Kittilä Airport for onward travel home.
| A NOTE FROM BEN
This expedition is designed to be a raw, unfiltered test of endurance. The energy of the Arctic is absolute—it offers zero compromises and demands your full presence.
We created this challenge to strip away the noise of everyday life. Out on the frozen tundra, hauling a pulka through deep powder under the Northern Lights, you will find out exactly what you are made of. The isolation is profound, and the physical demand is relentless.
The transition from grueling snowshoe traverses to the sheer speed and adrenaline of driving a dog sled team creates a stark, unforgettable contrast. We balance the brutal daytime conditions with necessary recovery—ice lake immersions, deep heat saunas, and earned camaraderie around the fire.
If you are looking for a standard vacation, this is not it. If you want to force yourself completely out of your comfort zone and experience the absolute extreme of the winter wilderness, join us.
See you in the snow,
Ben
