Overview
The upper reaches of the Brisbane River offer a magnificent, unexplored ecosystem that’s right on the doorstep of anyone lucky enough to live in south-east Queensland.
We’ve created a multi-faceted, two-day adventure on water and on wheels, combined with a luxurious glamping experience on the banks of the river at Allawah.
The kayaks, bikes, transport to and from Brisbane are all taken care of as well as the complete luxury glamping setup and all of the catering from breakfast on day one to lunch on day two – all you have to do is make it to the start line fit and raring to go.
The expedition is for people of all fitness and skill levels. We use double kayaks on the river, which are easy to power and steer. For the half-day on the bike we use entry-level mountain bikes and travel along the well-kept, virtually flat Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
To keep the overall cost down we’ve opted for 5-metre triple-share bell tents which comfortably house three single air mattresses (there is the option to pay a supplement for a twin or single-share if you snore or need some extra privacy) and respect current social-distancing regulations.
It’s time to stretch your adventure-wings once more, so grab a friend or five, and join us exploring this stunning part of our magnificent state.
