DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT
We don’t do team building, we help people inspire themselves
Adventure and the Great Outdoors are the ultimate business mentors. By taking on challenges and embracing discomfort in wilderness environments, we build resilience, resolve and confidence whilst improving our problem-solving skills and connection with colleagues. Nothing nurtures self-improvement or strengthens bonds quite like an adventure challenge.
We tailor and lead expeditions to suit the unique needs and objectives of our corporate clients, from local day trips to extended international adventures. Whether you’re after an unforgettable staff incentive program, client entertainment solution or team bonding experience, we will design an adventure that reaps ongoing results and ignites long-term goodwill.
If your team is fed up with screen-time and need a digital detox, never get to see each other as they work remotely or want to celebrate shared success, we have the solution. Dive into our Adventure Menu below.

Adventure isn’t just about crossing the Arctic in the fastest time or climbing Mount Everest…
it’s a state of mind
Hi, I’m Ben Southall, Founder of Best Life Adventures.
In 2009, I won Tourism Queensland’s Best Job in the World. Since then I’ve kayaked the length of the Great Barrier Reef, have set two world records running up mountains across Australia and New Zealand and have driven my old Land Rover around Africa and from Singapore to London. It’s been a busy last decade.
Adventure is part of my DNA.
At Best Life Adventures we deliver expeditions and experiences to corporate teams, charities, and private groups through tough physical, mental and cultural challenges in wilderness environments disconnected from the burden of modern technology.
We don’t do ‘Team-Building’. We don’t do average.
Our Campfire Conversations, Bare Bones Boardrooms and Territory Mapping experiences allow teams to naturally form, bond and bind helping individuals discover the best version of themselves.
It might not be for everyone, but for those looking to take the risk with a completely different way of building a cohesive, engaged team, we can offer something no other adventure company provides.
Are your tribe ready for a Best Life Adventure?
Nomadic School of Business
Through our established Territory Mapping program delivered in partnership with The Nomadic School of Business, we’ll help your team and business find purpose, clarity and an aligned future.
From navigation mapping to territory mapping and unlocking the psyche of first nation people around the world to understand where we see their community, threats and opportunities and how that aligns to the world of modern business.
Whether it is in Queensland’s Scenic Rim or the frozen Mongolian steppe, your team will embrace the nomadic way of life and strip back the complexities of the modern world to reflect on your vision and design your future direction.

For businesses requiring a highly specialised and ongoing adventure travel solution, Ben Southall, offers his services as an ‘Adventurer-in-Residence’.
In the role, he plans, manages and leads all adventure travel requirements for a client, working in-house for a dedicated amount of time on a weekly or fortnightly basis. He also provides one-on-one adventure mentoring to staff.
The purpose of this role is to embed the spirit of adventure in the heart of a business and ensure employees live and breathe its associated values (e.g. action, clear goals, calculated risk-taking, bold thinking and resilience).
The Best Life Adventures team was commissioned by the Queensland Government to produce a series of ‘extreme networking events’ that focused on supporting the Queensland start-up community as part of the Government’s Advance Queensland initiative.
But, it was so much more than an alfresco meeting of entrepreneurial minds.
The Venturer Program is a unique experience that whisked a cohort of innovators away from the stress of their business, pushed them out of their comfort zones in wilderness areas around the planet for the adventure of a lifetime.
We disconnected our Venturers from the digital world and immersed them in a series of mental and physical challenges, to inspire their creative thinking, collaboration and long-term partnerships.
The Venturer Program was geared towards building resilience, confidence and a number of traits, which are vital to bold business leaders.
Missions to date: Whitsundays, Tasmania, New Zealand, Wujal Wujal and Mongolia.
We partnered with Ben and Best Life Adventures to jazz up our corporate Rewards and Recognition program. We wanted a program that would reward a group of individuals by helping them achieve personal and professional success, develop leadership skills and challenge comfort zones. We were blown away with the careful attention that went into the coordination of our trip. BLA thought of everything – the activities were fun but challenging and BLA put a lot of care and attention into the finer details to make our base camp as comfortable as possible. Ben and all other members of the crew were motivating and welcoming. The adventure injected energy, ideas and motivation into the group and our Venturers returned to the office better connected and ready to take on anything. We are looking forward to continuing the Ulton and BLA partnership and planning the next big adventure!
Every single Best Life Adventure changes me and that’s exactly why I seek them out.
Venturer Whitsundays gave me clarity on major life decisions.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp taught me how to ask for help, and Venturer Mongolia taught me how to slow down – to do half as much in order to double my impact.
